Yeah thoes are getting torn down, they are making a new entrance to Walmart/Target a little further north and eliminating the traffic light right there. There will be a longer bridge
BTW the I110 work and sangani work are 2 different projects |

I thought they were making a new entrance for those gas stations not tearing it down? Well that's what I heard. |

| Thats what i heard at first, this is the new plan as of Jan 7th | SunHerald wrote: | D’IBERVILLE -- New entrances will soon lead to the stores and restaurants at The Promenade and Sangani Boulevard as work begins to ease traffic in the busiest area of D’Iberville. The traffic light and entrances to the shopping centers’ parking areas will move slightly north on Mississippi 15/67, said Kelly Castleberry, district engineer for the Mississippi Department of Transportation. They will be just south of the Tchoutacabouffa River Bridge, out of the construction area. TIM ISBELL/SUN HERALD Construction will begin soon on a bridge that will ease traffic congestion into shopping areas at The Promenade. Thursday was closing day for the Chevron gas station on Sangani and the Kangaroo station opposite it at the entrance to The Promenade. Castleberry said the stations will be demolished and the underground storage tanks removed before construction begins on a bridge over the highway. The gas stations are the only businesses that will be torn down for the project, he said. When the flyover is complete, traffic going north will turn right toward Sangani, go straight north or take the bridge over the road to The Promenade. Coming south, the bridge will take traffic to Sangani. Castleberry said the project will eliminate the traffic light on Mississippi 15/67, which is a hurricane-evacuation route. It also will be safer because drivers coming off the I-10 and 110 ramps will no longer have to swerve across traffic to get into the correct lane, he said. While this work, and repairs to the I-110 drawbridge, are in progress, D’Iberville officials hope to start widening Sangani Boulevard to alleviate traffic congestion there. City planner Jeff Taylor said D’Iberville officials hope to finish the right-of-way acquisition within a month and go out for bids to widen the road from near Lowe’s to Lamey Bridge Road. He said the Sangani widening should be finished and helping move traffic in about six months, and MDOT’s project to improve to the intersection is expected to take 18 months to 2 years.
